Mark Van Mourick is the Chief Executive Officer of Optivest, Inc., and personally manages the investment portfolios of several of the nation’s wealthiest families. Mark established Optivest, Inc. over 20 years ago and has grown the firm’s managed portfolios to 52 wealthy families through building strategic, diversified portfolios for his clients resulting in outstanding performance, consistent growth and referrals.
Mark has almost 30 years experience as a Money Manager and Registered Investment Advisor. Prior to opening his own firm, he was the leading retail stock broker of Smith Barney/Orange County. Mark leads Optivest, Inc. by example, defining common corporate goals that build integrity, excellent customer satisfaction and an environment of high moral consciousness and generosity.
In addition to his expertise in stocks and finance, Mark has extensive experience in business and real estate. He is the author of “Cash Out, Cash In – The After Success Investment Guide”, and is also an experienced investor in a wide variety of investment vehicles including stocks, real estate and venture capital. Mark frequently puts his money “side-by-side” with his clients.
Mark holds various NASD licenses including NASD Series 7, Series 63 and Series 24, is a graduate of the University of Southern California with dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in International Finance and Business Management and serves on the executive boards of numerous companies.
In addition to his business achievements, Mark is founder and President of The Optivest Foundation which donates hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to Christian Ministries. Optivest, Inc. and Optivest Properties donate 10% of gross annual revenue to charities around the world and all employees and clients are encouraged to bring forward their ideas for charitable giving for consideration.
Warren W. Allan is President of Optivest Properties, LLC, the fully integrated property acquisition and management division of Optivest, Inc. Warren has over 25 years of financial and operational management experience during which time he has helped develop over 25 real estate partnerships to acquire self storage facilities in various regions nationwide. His company, Optivest Properties, has over 70 employees and focuses primarily on the self storage and multi-tenant investment properties and offers to locate, purchase and manage solely-owned individual properties on behalf of clients of Optivest, Inc.
Prior to teaming up with Optivest, Inc. in 2007, Warren was both the COO and CFO of Platinum Storage since its founding in 2000. While at Platinum, Warren grew the company’s client roster to over 65 properties, resulting in the company being ranked as one of the country’s top 15 self storage operations in 2006. Warren’s ability to identify solid investment properties and his strong property management skills brings value added investment opportunities to both Optivest Properties and Optivest, Inc. clients. He frequently invests “side-by-side” with his clients and holds equity positions in over 25 Self Storage Partnerships throughout the country.
Warren is a graduate of Biola University. He is a philanthropist and under his leadership, Optivest Properties donates 10% of gross annual revenue to charities around the world. All employees and clients are encouraged to bring forward their ideas for charitable giving for consideration.
Leslie Calhoun is Vice President of Optivest, Inc. Leslie is responsible for implementing investment strategies, providing client support services and investment performance monitoring. Working closely with Mark Van Mourick, Leslie employs 17 years of investment experience to communicate investment ideas and updates to Optivest clients to provide the high level of personalized attention the firm strives to achieve.
Prior to joining Optivest, Leslie worked as an Institutional Sales Trader and Market Maker for several Broker/Dealers and has knowledge of insider and restricted shares, and IPO’s. In recent years, she has worked with private and public companies seeking capital to arrange financing with Hedge Funds and Venture Capital Investors.
Leslie holds various NASD licenses including NASD Series 7, Series 63, Series 24 and Series 55. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Louisville.

Traci L. Crays serves as Office Manager for Optivest, Inc. and brings over 20 years experience in the Financial Planning industry. Traci brings extensive knowledge in serving clients, working closely with the CPA’s of clients, and handling the operation of a financial/brokerage office. Traci has managed the office of various financial planners. During her career in the financial field, Traci has tailored the services provided by her firms to fit the specific needs of their clients, resulting in high client satisfaction that builds trust and loyalty. She has worked closely with Registered Investment Advisors to set new standards for service to high net-worth clients. Her experience in securities processing, stock and bond trading, life insurance and annuity administration, estate planning, trust transfers and maintaining office compliance makes Traci a solid leader for the Optivest, Inc. office.
Traci holds a Registered Paraplanner certificate from the College for Financial Planning and is currently working on her Human Resources Management Certification through UC Irvine. The growing staff of Optivest, Inc. looks to Traci to lead them in the direction of effective and timely communication, strong ethics and the highest standard of customer service possible.
Monica Guinan, Data Portfolio Manager, celebrated her 10th anniversary with Optivest, Inc., in March 2008. She has over 21 years of diversified investment administration, accounting and reporting experience. She maintains the interface files, valuation data, custom requests and the accounting/reporting program utilized to track the broad scope of investment vehicles that Optivest offers. Producing accurate quarterly performance and portfolio summary reports for each client is her primary focus.
Monica managed the implementation of WealthLine, our new client site system, which allows our clients to access their account information online.
After attending college in Southern California, she went on to Sawyer Business College, which gave her insight to a career path that has proven to utilize her strengths needed in our complex industry. Today’s technology allows her the convenience of telecommuting from her office in Utah. There she enjoys cooking, snow skiing and four-wheeling with her family.
